My husbands good friend Kyle has raised beefalo as long as I have known him. I knew and still know very little about cattle but we have the land and Ben wanted cattle and I love hamburger and steak so to me it was a no brainer. We decided to go with the beefalo for their huge benefits leaner meat and friendlier temperament just to name a few. We had already had a black angus given to us as a baby to bottle feed because her mother had passed but when she is bred to a full beefalo her baby will also be beefalo. We then went on to purchase 6 other head of cattle to include 4 heifers, 1 cow and 1 steer. We have added and sold a few along the way. Two of them have already produced calves. We haven't had any meat off of them yet and will not be producing meat to sell only enough to feed our family.
